Library Card

 More information for each type of card listed below can be found in our “Circulation Policy” under POLICIES

To obtain a residential Argos Public Library card:

  1. Apply in person at the library.
  2. Make sure to bring with you:
    • Valid photo ID with current eligible (Green or Walnut Township) residential address OR
    • Valid photo ID without current eligible address, plus a supporting document (e.g., utility bill) that proves current eligible address

Types of cards available:

  • Resident Adult
  • Resident Youth (5-17 years)
  • Reciprocal
  • PLAC Card
  • Non-Resident Adult
  • Non-Resident Student
  • Non-Resident School Employee
Book and Audiovisual Drop Boxes

Items borrowed from the library can be returned in the drop boxes when the library is closed. The drop boxes are to the left of the main entrance door. An audiovisual drop for movies, audiobooks, CDs and DVDs is the top drop box slot. The book drop slot is located below the audiovisual slot. 

Renew materials/Drop Boxes

Materials that are checked out may be renewed once if there are no reserves on them. Materials may be renewed by telephone during the business day or through your online account on the library website. Please have your library card number available when renewing by telephone. 

Interlibrary Loan

With the Argos Public Library’s  Interlibrary Loan Service, patrons can access materials from other libraries throughout Indiana. You must hold a valid Argos Public Library card to take advantage of this service. 

Interlibrary loan is a primary service that supports the mission of the library by providing enhanced access to library materials and information. The purpose of interlibrary loan is to obtain materials not available in the library.

Copy Machines

There is one photocopier in the library at the downstairs circulation desk. Copies are 15 cents each for single-sided black and white 8 ½” X 11” and 8 ½” X 14” sized paper. Double-sides black and white copies are 25 cents each and color copies are 50 cents each. 

Fax Machine

The library has a fax machine for public use. It is located at the first floor circulation desk and the staff must transmit documents for you. The cost to fax for long distance is $3.00 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page while the cost for local service is $2.00 for the first page and $1.00 each additional page. All toll free numbers are $1.00 per page. All incoming faxes are 50 cents per page.
