Friends Mission

Friends of Argos Public Library is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization that works to provide extra resources for library programming and to boost community-wide support for one of Argos’s most valuable resource. Membership is open to all who share these goals.

Who Are the Friends of APL?

The Friends of the Argos Public Library are your friends, neighbors, co-workers and members of the business community – a dedicated group of citizens working to support the library in many ways. We welcome new friends and invite you to join us, participate in our activities and have fun while getting satisfaction of supporting your community. Joining the Friends says to everyone that you care about your library and value its resources. Each new member makes us stronger. Membership is open to anyone interested in supporting our mission. APL Friends organized in 2006.

What Do the Friends Do?

The Friends group holds 3 events each year; a plant sale in May, a book sale during the week of the Marshall County Fair, and al Sweet Treats sale in early December that coincides with a visit from Santa for young patrons. The money made by the organization helps provide:

  • Winter reading program prizes and special events
  • Summer Reading Program prizes and special events
  • Craft materials at a variety of programs
  • Special projects
